Dometic Wall Holding Tank Series
As the lead design engineer for the Wall Holding Tank Series with VacuMax™, I drove product development from concept to launch by improving manufacturability, reliability, and testing efficiency. My work focused on innovative design solutions, advanced prototyping methods, and testing automation to optimize both cost and performance for this new product launch.
Key Outcomes:
Decreased tank manufacturing cost by 55% through an injection molded design.
Reduced waste pump clogs by up to 75% with an inverted pump redesign (Patent Pending).
Increased maintainability of the waste pump by using a cartridge-based one-way valve system (Patent Pending).
Developed functional prototypes using 3D printing, cutting prototyping costs by up to 80%.
Enhanced testing accuracy and efficiency by creating PLC programs for automated subsystem testing.
